Kit's Baseball outfit shirt, (not the white one, but the checked with the blue scarf and red tie on it) got a small orange stain on it. So I did what the instructions said on the tag, wash with cold water, line dry. Well. the red from the red tie leaked all over the shirt! Called CS, they are sending a replacement. They also informed me that I was not the only one who had troubles with the shirt.

This also happened with Molly's Camp outfit, some water got on, and the red leaked all over Molly's undies! So replaced the undies and the outfit!

So I am concluding that the red dye in AG products leaks!! so be warned.

I had a similar problem with Molly's camp outfit. The red dye from the shrts blotched up her white camp shirt while it was just being stored, nicely folded in the drawer of her trunk, away from water. I should probably contact AGCS about it...but I've learned my lesson. Anything red (like her shorts and her camp cap are stored in a ziplock to protect all the other clothes, if only I had thought of that when I was 12.

Use Shout Color Catcher on any dark clothes (reds are really bad about running-staining) as these are more likely to stain lighter colors or even the doll if they even just get damp even from humidity. Shout Color Catcher grabs, locks in the color to prevent running or staining.

For just one or a few items like doll clothes, I just fill a large bowl with luke warm water and place a sheet in it. Put my hand in and move the water and sheet around add soap if needed. I'll then place the the fabric in the bowl and move the stuff around with my hand gently. Let it sit for a few minutes, and then move the items around gently again. I then rinse by running water into the bowl. When rinsed I'll pad the fabric laying between a towel. Hang the outfit to dry or put them in the dryer on low heat or air.

What I have notice is the color come out much brighter. Plus the color is less likely to fade.

I quilt and don't pre-wash my fabric. I'll use all colors in many of my quilts and after I complete them I wash them with One or two sheets depending how large the finished quilt is.
